School Code of Conduct

Beaver Valley Community School
Code of Conduct

At BVCS, our purpose is to develop successful and independent students.

The students, staff, parents, volunteers and community members will:

Respect and Consideration

Treat others as we would like to be treated
Respect the rights of others to learn without interference
Respect authority, as appropriate
Respect our environment and try to be eco-friendly

Relationships
Value people and diversity
Promote trusting and cooperative relationships
Demonstrate inclusion
Communicate feelings and needs effectively in an open and honest manner
Work together to solve problems and conflicts
Build trusting relationships with one another by acting honestly.

Responsibility
Be responsible for our actions and help others accept responsibility for their actions
Come to school prepared to learn and on time
Share responsibility for care of the school and environment
Stay on school property unless given permission to leave
Not permit vandalism in any way.

Consequences:
When the code of behaviour is not respected, a reasonable consequence, related to the action of thoughtlessness, will result.  Consequences follow the BVCS Progressive Discipline model which focuses on corrective and supportive measures to address disciplinary issues.  Lockers, desk and school bags may be subject to search by school administration.

The BVCS code of conduct was created in collaboration between the students, staff, and parents to ensure that our school is a safe and peaceful environment  for all members of the school community.
