Backyard Habitat Project

New Gardens at BVCS!!!
Arnis, a community volunteer, and Audrey MacDonald, a Grade 2 teacher, secured a grant of $9500 from Tree Canada to create three gardens at BVCS.There are three locations:

- one in the area behind the portables and near the white shed,
- one at the Russell street entrance, and
- the other at the front to the right of the school.
The new gardens are an extension of the BVCS Butterfly Gardens and Pollinate the Blue Mountains projects. They will contain trees, shrubs, and plants for birds, insects, butterflies, and other pollinators. The gardens will also incorporate walking paths, sitting spots, and educational signage for school and community education opportunities.

We are all excited to watch this project unfold as it creates beautiful spaces for our school community to enjoy.

A huge thank you to Arnis and Audrey for making this happen!
